Patrik Washburn

Patrik Washburn illustrator

Profile: Patrik Washburn is a writer/artist from Stone Mountain, Georgia (USA) now based in Tokyo who originally did mostly corporate work but became interested in creating stories and pictures for a younger audience when developing educational materials. He aims to write picture books and short fiction as well as do covers and illustrations for books and magazines geared toward kids of all ages. His work for children so far has included illustrations for textbooks, "Find the Difference" illustrations for a Tom and Jerry puzzle magazine, and character design and animation for a cartoon show based on Turkish legend Nasreddin Hoja. Washburn has both a graphically strong retro-pop style and a lively brushwork style.

The Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators is the only international organization to offer a variety of services to people who write, illustrate, or share a vital interest in children's literature.
