Gerri Sorrells Writer
Profile:
Tokyo-born American Gerri Sorrells is credited with
being the "original Bilin-gal", as radio personality,
TV reporter, MC, writer, and in giving life to flora and
fauna as myriad voices in animation, commercials, game
software and more. Her books bring a new concept to bilingual
storytelling. Each book has an audio CD, which she reads.
Mew's Adventure looks like a picture dictionary,
but with the audio CD, words and pictures come to life.
30 stories, 12 original songs and 23 word chants later,
Mew, the lost kitty, finds his family and his identity.
Sanseido's Kids Selection Story Time 1 and 2 are
book collections (with audio CD) of fairy tales retold
in simple English, garnished with humor, poetry, and sometimes
a different fairy tale ending. Gerri's books "play" in
both English and Japanese and reward bilingualism.
