Profile:
Born in South Africa, Rob studied Fine Art at the Kwa-zulu Natal Art and Design Institution. After graduating in 1997 he spent a number of years traveling and working in a variety of creative fields including furniture design, bronze casting and the film industry. His true passion, however, has always been illustration, and since deciding to pursue this field more seriously he has had two books published in South Africa with two more pending. He also won first prize in the Coca Cola young South African designers competition 2007.

Fascinated by Japanese art and culture he has recently moved to Tokyo with his wife and is continuing to produce work for local and international clients.

The Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators is the only international organization to offer a variety of services to people who write, illustrate, or share a vital interest in children’s literature.

The SCBWI acts as a network for the exchange of knowledge between writers, illustrators, editors, publishers, agents, librarians, educators, booksellers and others involved with literature for young people.

The Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators Tokyo branch offers members support, information, and education at a local level in mainland Japan.
